Morning Workshop:
Social Media Story and Song and Harness the Power!

Harness the Power!
Learn what about the buzz called social media and why meeting professionals are shifting from traditional marketing to new marketing strategies.  Understand the three key elements of Learn, Listen and Launch for every successful social media campaign.
• Defining the social media tool suite
• Building relationships through viral marketing
• Traditional marketing versus new media marketing
• Using social media to recruit attendees and sponsors

Part II - The Hands On Tactics Of Social Media Marketing
In this demonstration, Stephen Nold reviews some of the most popular social media tools and explain how they should be implemented and executed.  After digging into Twitter, Facebook Groups, and LinkedIn, he will provide the 5 critical components to deployment of any new media solution.

Participants will learn:
• The value of the five most useful social media tools
• Specific examples and results on how each tool can impact sales and marketing reach
• Understand the appeal of each tool to varying industry segments and user profiles
• The ability to discern between the hype and truth on these solutions

Networking Luncheon Program:
Lunch Tech Panel: The Art Of Social Media Marketing
In this presentation, Stephen Nold moderates a discussion on how social media solutions like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are impacting the use of traditional marketing in the efforts to recruit audience members and sponsors.  This strategic discussion will lay the foundation for what each organization must consider before launching these tools.  Stephen will include real world examples from events and the success (and sometimes failure) in adopting this new media.  The panel will inspire the audience to move from casual observation to action and show them why the revolutionary tools of innovation and change will define new approaches in creating and growing a community.

Speaker:

Stephen Nold began his career in market research and transitioned into product launch and marketing strategies for technology companies and system implementation strategies for associations and independent meeting planners.  Through the years he has developed personal relationships with many of the “movers and shakers” of the industry, and these relationships offer him a unique perspective on the latest trends and innovations.  His role as a consultant was preceded by his position as Manager of Proprietary Research at IntelliQuest, a leader in technology market research. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Texas and a MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.  Stephen and his wife reside in Austin, Texas where they raise their two sons.  He currently serves as President of Advon Technologies and Publisher of MeetingTechOnline. With a list of corporate clients including IBM, Dell Computers, Gartner, i2 Technologies and BMC Software, Stephen has witnessed first-hand the problems of poorly designed event technology roadmaps.  Calling attention to the paradigm shift occurring in the Meetings Industry, he has become an advocate of education programs that remove the fear of technology and allow meeting professionals the chance to enhance their conferences, events and work environments with the latest IT solutions. Stephen’s goal as a speaker, writer and consultant is to educate his audiences and clients about the efficient use of technology to save time and improve productivity.  With his experience in technology development and marketing, Stephen presents complex technology topics through an exciting, understandable and accessible approach.
